More Than Access to an Airplane

Phoenix Flying Club is a member-owned flying club built around safe flying, responsible aircraft ownership, cross-country adventure, and the camaraderie that makes general aviation special. Members share in the care and stewardship of the club aircraft while enjoying access to a capable, well-equipped Piper Dakota without taking on the full cost and responsibility of individual aircraft ownership.

Our membership includes both experienced and newer pilots. Whether your goal is weekend travel, maintaining proficiency, advancing your skills, or simply flying more often, PFC offers a practical and rewarding way to make aviation a bigger part of your life.

Meet the Club

Submit Your Application

Complete the membership application and provide the requested pilot and identification documents.

Board Review

The Board reviews your information and votes on membership acceptance on behalf of the club membership.

Complete Your Vestment

After acceptance, coordinate with the Treasurer to complete the required membership vestment and club financial setup.

FlightCircle Setup

Your member account is created in FlightCircle for scheduling, aircraft records, and club billing.

Aircraft Checkout

Coordinate with a club-approved CFI to complete the required aircraft checkout and become cleared to fly the Dakota.

FAQ

How much does membership cost?

The buy-in is about $7000 as of July 20206. This number increases slightly as members contribute monthly to the paint fund. This contribution is part of the $150 monthly dues. Members are required to pay in full the current vestment amount within 30 days of acceptance. Some or all of the vestment amount can be paid via check, bank transfer, or credit card. There is a 3% transaction fee applied when paying by credit card.

Monthly dues currently are set at $150 per member (as of July 2026), paid on the 1st of each month. This fixed monthly amount accounts for the fixed operatings costs (approx $120 to $135) based on current number of members, while the remaining amout is deposited into an asset improvement fund (paint). The contribution into the paint fund automatically becomes part of your vestment amount.

How long will my application take?

Once the application and supporting documents have been received it will be presented to the board members for vote on acceptance. This process typically takes 3-5 days.
